Fallece Scott Columbus, Ex-bateria de Manowar

El guitarrista Ross Boss Friedman ha informado mediante una red social de la muerte de su colega, el batería Scott Columbus. El ex integrante de Manowar falleció ayer lunes a la edad de 54 años. La causa todavía no se conoce.

La noticia ha sido emitida por el sitio especializado 'Blabbermouth'. La novia del difunto ha corroborado la triste noticia: "Para vuestro conocimiento, soy la novia de Scott Columbus desde hace tres años y no encuentro palabras para expresarme, pero él ha muerto hoy... Por favor, orad por él y tenedle en vuestros pensamientos. No puedo creer que se haya ido. Era el amor absoluto de mi vida", ha afirmado la compañera del músico.

Scott Columbus fue descubierto por una fan y formó parte del legendario conjunto de heavy metal Manowar desde 1983 (cuando la banda grabó su segundo disco, 'Into Glory Ride') hasta 2008, cuando dejó la banda temporalmente. En los años en que formó parte de Manowar, desapareció de la banda en diversas ocasiones debido a la enfermedad de su hijo, siendo sustituído durante algunos años por otros baterías como Rhino. 

El 1 de junio de 2010 anunció en una revista especializada su marcha definitiva de Manowar por motivos "personales, financieros y musicales".
